Is there a need for this template, in light of the fact taht we already have a detailed Template:ProbDistributions? --Zvika (talk) 06:20, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- As I'm the creator of this, as well as the reorganiser of Template:ProbDistributions in March 2008, I guess you'd not be surprised to hear that I think there is a place for both! Template:ProbDistributions is mean to be comprehensive, but is intimidating to newcomers to the field and is collapsed by default; this template lists only the twenty-or-so univariate distributions that are most commonly viewed and most used at an elementary level, and is expanded by default. See the last two sections of discussion at Template talk:ProbDistributions. Regards, Qwfp (talk) 14:05, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
