Shravana
Shravana (Devanagari: श्रवणा)(Tamil: திருவோணம்) is the 22nd nakshatra (Devanagari: नक्षत्र) or lunar mansion as used in Hindu astronomy and astrology. It belongs to the constellation Makara (Devanagari: मकर) or Capricorn.
Traditional Hindu given names are determined by which pada (quarter) of a nakshatra the moon was in at the time of birth. In the case of Ashvini, the given name would begin with the following syllables:
- Shi (Devanagari: शि)
- Shu (Devanagari: शु)
- She (Devanagari: शे)
- Sho (Devanagari: शो)1
