The Journal of the International Phonetic Association is a peer-reviewed academic journal that appears three times a year. It is published by Cambridge University Press on behalf of the International Phonetic Association. It was established as Le Maître Phonétique in 1886 and obtained its current name in 1971.1 It covers topics in phonetics and applied phonetics such as speech therapy and voice recognition. The editor-in-chief is Adrian P. Simpson (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität). The journal is abstracted and indexed in the MLA Bibliography.
